Piper explains in reflecting on forty years of matrimony: "Most foundationally, marriage is the doing of God. And ultimately, marriage is the display of God. It displays the covenant-keeping love between Christ and his people to the world in a way that no other event or institution does. Marriage, therefore, is not mainly about being in love. It's mainly about telling the truth with our lives. And staying married is not about staying in love. It is about keeping covenant and putting the glory of Christ's covenant-keeping love on display."

I highly recommend!

Timothy Keller gives you a deep insight into marriage. He very well connects it to the bible passages that talk about men and wife and uses good illustrations on all passages. The passages are a bit clearer to me now. I really enjoyed how he talked about the worth that everyone has in front of god, it doesn‘t matter if married, single, widowed,… We should all try to care for our brothers and sisters whoever they are. Another thing that I will keep in mind that marriage is a reflection of God and the church. Married people should do everything they can to be a good example and to live in love, forgiveness and grace in the covenant of marriage. But of course also a single reflects Jesus and the church, but different. My resumée is to seek for the kingdom of god in all circumstances and never let go of him.
