Have others survived? Ren's bioartist friend Amanda? Zeb, her eco-fighter stepfather? Her onetime lover, Jimmy? Or the murderous Painballers, survivors of the mutual-elimination Painball prison? Not to mention the shadowy, corrupt policing force of the ruling powers...
Meanwhile, gene-spliced life forms are proliferating: The lion/lamb blends, the Mo'hair sheep with human hair, the pigs with human brain tissue. As Adam One and his intrepid hemp-clad band make their way through this strange new world, Ren and Toby will have to decide on their next move. They can't stay locked away...

The best writer of the 20th &-21st Centuries.
I was wonderfully surprised by the music and odes to the natural world. It's a story siblings might tell each other at night before going to sleep

Sad, beautiful and funny
This is one of the few books that make you feel bad when they are over - because they are over too soon, regardless how long they are. Atwood writes about a sad and scary future in a lighthearted, and sometimes outright funny style. I liked the narrators too, they caught the feeling of the book just fine. The only downside are the sometimes quite silly songs, but the rest is just too good to make it less than five stars!

Spannend und aussergewöhnlich, zum Nachdenken
Dieses Buch hat mich wegen seiner Aktualität zum Nachdenken angeregt. Es ist angenehm und spannend zum Hören und verbindet Bekanntes mit Neuem auf faszinierende Art und Weise.

Tolles Hörbuch
Sehr liebevoll und spannend gemachtes Hörbuch. Alle Charaktere sind lebendig und abwechslungsreich "intoniert" - und die Gesänge sind sehr authentisch interpretiert. Es war mir ein Vergnügen zuzuhören - von Anfang bis Ende.

Great story, annoying music
Loved the story and the way it was told, but the speaker of Adam 1 and the songs were rather annoying. Would have preferred a simple audio book like the first part of the series.
