Über diesen Titel
A former FBI agent is partnered with the enemy in this suspenseful male/male shifter romance from debut author Charlie Adhara.
Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Dayton's plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park.
Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Cooper's concerned, it's failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything they've seen, every bone in Cooper's body is suspicious of his new partner - even when Park proves himself as competent as he is utterly captivating.
When more people vanish, pressure to solve the case skyrockets. And though he'd resolved to keep things professional, Cooper's friction with Park soon erupts...into a physical need that can't be contained or controlled. But with a body count that's rising by the day, werewolves and humans are in equal danger. If Cooper and Park don't catch the killer soon, one - or both - of them could be the next to go.
Contains mature themes.

A cool crime story
With a great team of MCs! Both Park and Cooper have their flaws, and they work well together in spite of them. They do have great chemistry, too!
The crime story itself was interesting as well, and the moment when everything came together was both a surprise and, in hindsight, a very well done amount of foreshadowing.
The only negative point I have is the narrator, who talks incredibly fast. It took some getting used to, but ensured I had to pay attention while listening.
All in all I'm looking forward to part two!

Super Buch

Fantastic Start to the best series!
I absolutely love this book and love the whole series! Cooper is such a real, flawed but wonderful charakter and when we meet him here he's already been trough a lot - that is one of the best things of this book we skip the whole surprise thing. There's no 'oh my god you're a werewolf' moment and we can therefore really start to explore the dynamics of this world from the get go. The two main characters have real developement in this book, in their relationship but also as individuals especially Cooper. We can also see very clearly how misinformation and Propaganda can form a very faulty imagery of a whole group of people and how easy it is to fall into that trap. Adhara also showes us via Cooper how to rectefy what we did wrong. the Crime mystery is complex, suspenseful and avoids basically all the stereotypes. The starts of a relationship feel so real that I am convinced it is modelled after a real life one but in the very best way. this book is dark at points as it deals with dark themes that are very relevant today, but it doesn’t really do allegory which I absolutely love, it's applicable but not allegorical which it the exact tone you should use when you speak of fictional groups that experience discrimination. there are twists and turns and little hints of whats to come later and what came before but the overall tone of the story and the moral throughline are not just bravely kept grey at some points but also feel still hopeful and good somehow. The voice actor us finally someone you don't hear and every second LGBTQ audiobook and I really liked his performance. Especially in later books of the series you dont even need the context, you know the charakters in an instance. Really great production too. There's no mistakes as far as I could make out and the editing and mixing is flawless!
The writing style is truely impressive too! I read a lot of fantasy and even more in general but this is still after many years a series I keep coming back to, listening again, waiting for the next one. Adhara took a premise that could've been over-dramatic like a soap, or unbelievable like a superhero movie or even cutesy or trashy and somehow managed to make it griddy and so realistic that I frequently had to remind myself throughout the series that these are not real people. But they kind of are. Especially Cooper embodies every one of us queer kids from small towns, all of us who have been trough violent trauma, all of us who came from toxic relationships, all of us who despite it all stood up again and just became a little bit more prickly instead of giving up. Cooper will forever be my personal hero and as Cooper so I too fell in love with Oliver and their relationship throughout the series.
This book is awesome. I can't recommend this book and the whole series highly enough! Five stars out of Five.
Go listen, it is well worth your time!
