Über diesen Titel
Mitch Turner’s ex-girlfriend is in serious trouble.
Defense attorney Mitch Turner has just successfully resolved a challenging case when he receives a text message from his ex-girlfriend Barbara Sampson. Her message is cryptic, and his efforts to get more information don’t yield anything. Sensing trouble and knowing little more than an address, Mitch flies through the city, hoping his instincts are off. But he fears that something is terribly wrong.
Mitch’s concerns only increase when he finds Barbara—crouching on the floor and covered in somebody else’s blood.
MITCH’S HANDS ARE TIED.
Barbara is in a world of trouble. Mitch tries to do what he can but soon finds himself on the outside looking in. Mitch takes on a new client that has been charged with felony murder, hoping it will distract him from Barbara’s challenges. It seems to help, but he finds it increasingly difficult to maintain his focus because he is sure he can recover the situation for Barbara.
WILL THE CONSEQUENCES CHANGE MITCH FOREVER?
Mitch is in too deep before he realizes that he’s risking malpractice and that his new client might suffer for his mistakes. Mitch is at risk of losing everything.
His reputation. His career. The woman he thought he loved.
And maybe even his life.
Can Mitch turn things around before it’s too late? Or will he have to live with the consequences?

Sneak Peek
Barbara opened the door as I reached for the doorbell, letting the chain catch so I could only see her face.
“Mitch.”
Her voice was so quiet it was barely audible. I wouldn’t have known she’d even spoken if I hadn’t seen her lips move.
“Barbara, what’s going on?”
“Something’s happened.” She glanced to either side as if afraid somebody might be eavesdropping on our conversation. I could appreciate her desire for confidentiality.
“Open the door. I’ll come in.”
Barbara shook her head. “You can’t. You can’t get involved… in this.”
My eyes narrowed. “Involved in what?”
Barbara closed her eyes, and she shook her head again. “I didn’t know who else to call.”
“What’s going on, Barbara?”
“It’s Thomas Guyton. He’s dead.”
