When Lucy discovers that Gran did not die peacefully in her sleep, but was murdered, she has to bring the killer to justice without tipping off the law that there's no body in the grave. Between a hot 500-year-old vampire and a dishy detective inspector, both of whom always seem to be there for her, Lucy finds her life getting more complicated than a triple cable cardigan. The only one who seems to know what's going on is her cat...or is it...her familiar?

A dead grandmother appearing, a 400-year-old moody teenager, a magical cat and so many other fascinating and hilarious characters. The plot had me guessing right up to the reveal and the setting of Oxford in conjunction with old books and architecture simply enchanted me. The narration gave the whole thing the finishing touches that made listening extra enjoyable.
I'm definitely going to start the next book in the series right away.

Nothing too extravagant or complicated, but a promising start to a series... I'd compare the feeling to watching Gilmore girls plus magic and vampires 😁
