A very good introduction

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Actually it is exactly what it says: an introduction into the world of NLP. This means that you cannot expect to dig very deep into the topic of NLP and I expected some more examples on actual exercises. This book is mainly story driven and tells a story about successful applications of NLP. So the book tells you what you can achieve with NLP and what not. I see it as appetizer for NLP. This book makes you want to get NLP better to know soon!

So as I said it is a good introduction and definitely worth hearing/reading it, but don't expect to get a in depth introspection into NLP.

Amazing book!

This book was my first conscious contact with NLP and it completely changed my life! I listened to it at least 3 times already. I highly recommend it to everyone wanting to be able to better steer his brain and understand what happens inside!

You don't need antidepressiva if you listen to this. It's just fun listening and you can learn a lot.

totally overrated

hardly any useful information, silly story line, ridiculously bad narrated. Why is Bandler even considered to be such an important figure in the field NLP?

Beware-NLP is a money making system not self-help

Why is NLP a money-making machine, especially for Richard Bandler and certified trainers? If you look at the content of NLP it is not evidence based, it uses the placebo effect, i.e. you go from bad to good when you believe in it. This effect is perfectly legitimate and NLP is a great system in the placebo area. What makes it unethical is the commercialisation. NLP courses should never be sold for $3,000. Because NLP belongs to the placebo system and should be categorised in the free economy.

So why has NLP been so successful? The reason is that it is about offering solutions to human drama. People live in drama and they want to get out of it. For example, a shaman can cure a depressed person by asking the person to bring him his urine, and after secretly adding sugar to the piss, the shaman tells the person to drink it again. It won't kill the person, and you can add a convincing story by saying that the urine itself tastes awful, but when the shaman adds the sugar it tastes sweet, and this new potion turns depression into happiness.

There's nothing wrong with the placebo effect. What is unethical is the marketing of false beliefs, and NLP is just one of them. In fact, co-founder Richard Bandler tried to take over the exclusive ownership of the Society of NLP from NLP founder John Grinder in the 90s. This clearly shows Bandler's greed to turn NLP into a money-making machine.

In conclusion, there is nothing wrong with studying placebo effects and NLP, but do not waste a single cent on pseudoscience. If you can't get it for free, don't touch NLP.

Kein gutes Buch !

Das Buch ist wirklich nicht Wert! Es erklärt keine NLP sondern gibt paar Beispiele von seinen Seminaren ! Das Buch ist eine Werbung für seine Seminare
