Über diesen Titel
It has been 16 months since Princess Esofi arrived in Ieflaria, and eight since her marriage to Crown Princess Adale. The princesses have a peaceful life together, preparing to become co-regents and raising their baby dragon, Carinth.
Their peace is shattered when Esofi’s mother, Queen Gaelle of Rhodia, arrives in Birsgen. She has heard about Carinth and believes that she deserves custody of him due to her greater devotion to Talcia, Goddess of Magic.
Adale and Esofi have no intention of giving up their son, but Gaelle is impossible to reason with - and there’s no telling what lengths she’ll go to in order to get what she wants.

It's like the 1st book, just the other way around
This time it's just the other party in the relationship that is stubbornly making one mistake after the other even knowing that her actions are mistakes.
And it's really annoying that nobody can bring up logical arguments for why a ruler from another country can't just kidnap the son of the princess or why the ruler of another country doesn't have a say in how religion is handled in the country where they aren't ruler. Every argument is just emotional arguments and personal attacks.
That worked reasonably well in the 1st book because the one making the mistakes was pretty childish, but this time the author just flips a switch and turns both personalities 180°.
And all this seemingly just because the author couldn't come up with a less disappointing way to introduce tension.
They even had this interesting setup where one could explore motherhood and education with a dragon child in a "human" royal family, but noooo...the 1st half of the book is pretty much just about how the bad guys can do and say whatever they want without real concequences even outside of their kingdoms while the good guys cower behind their walls of silence because they don't want to offend someone.
