***Audiobook Review of Book 1 & 2***

I love Royal Romance novels, and did I ever love this one!!!

Once upon a time, JJ McAvoy wrote a beautiful modern, cinderella-esque, swoony fairy tale! Only in this fairy tale Cinderella does not want to be romanced, swept off her feet, nor was she looking for a HEA. But all seems to change once Prince Charming appears in the form of Galahad (Gale) from Ersovia, a real-life ‘playboy’ prince trying to charm his way into her heart, showing her romance isn’t dead, and that real love may just exist.

Odette and Gale are driven into an arranged marriage by their families. Reason? Money! Gale due to duty and honour for his father; Odette due to her late billionaire father’s inheritance.

So, they get to know each other:

He loves winding her up.
She loves pushing his buttons.
He tries to royally charm her.
She plays hard to get and puts him in his place.

I love a strong heroine who does not give up, stands up for herself and does not just give in to fate. Odette is this woman, although her strength is also a shield protecting her from her deepest fears.

Gale is your kind, good-hearted, swoony, handsome Prince Charming but is torn by the love he has for Odette and the duty and honour for his country.

They have a lot to overcome and fight against the odds of being together as duty, ignorance, lies, and the usual family drama seems to be standing in their way of a happy ending.

JJ McAvoy captivated me with this beautiful love story and its unexpected twist and turns. You don´t have the usual heat, but it´s fun, sweet, and their flirty back and forth banter is so very entertaining and made me laugh. The storyline is relevant, current and highlights the importance of acceptance and diversity of an interracial relationship.

Shane East and Wesleigh Siobhan are really a delight to listen to. They charmed me with their storytelling and captured all the emotions of the characters and different POV´s. I would also love to hear more about them in Duet style.

Lets make it a hallmark movie!
