Dafuq happend Here. I am listening to an audiobook set in the 16. Century and suddenly the Protegonist is in modern day New York?!

Leider ist bis Kapitel 9 nicht wirklich erkennbar, wohin es in der Geschichte geht. Es zieht sich alles in unendliche Dia- und Monologe, die keinen Sinn oder Entwicklung ergeben. Schon beim vorherigen Buch der Reihe hatte ich das Gefühl, dass hiermit Geld geschnitten werden soll. Den Irrsinn, dass es eine Prequel Serie gibt, wo es empfohlen ist, sie zeitgleich zu lesen, hat mir den Lesespass gänzlich verdorben. Die Vielzahl der Erwähnungen des F-Wortes und die Überlegung, wo der Ehering statt der Kette um die Brust eher zu tragen sei...mit anderen Worten, ich habe aufgegeben.

I find this series much more vivid and engaging than ACOTAR, which is probably a hot take.

Biggest ick for the dialogue. At times, ridiculously repetitive phrases. And the f-bombs are overused to the point of redundancy. I don't mind colourful language. It can absolutely be the spice but in this series the use of curse words is often so uninspired that it feels like listening to a drunk middle aged person that stopped evolving around 15 yrs old and has limited vocabulary. Now, again: I like this series and the above only happens in instances and is not the level of quality throughout. There are just moments sprinkled throughout that smell like a smoker's lounge on a Sunday morning. This is the voice chosen for the MMCs. Regrettable.

Overall, I find the characters much more engaging and the story much more thrilling than the named bestseller series. I enjoy the evolution in the relationships that doesn't stop with the romantic commitment but goes beyond that.

It's not high literature, but as Dark Romance goes, it is definitely much better crafted than a lot of what is out there, minus the instances of overused profanity for the testosterone variety of people.

Better plot than ACOTAR, but very weak dialogue

Considering that what feels like 80% of this book is repeated conversations in bedrooms there's a surprising amount of miscommunication. I loved the start of the series and Flesh and Fire, but this book was thoroughly disappointing. So much text, yet so little plot.

Disappointing Follow-Up

Die erste beiden Teilen waren wirklich gut, Dann wurde für meinen Geschmack mal wieder zu viel mit Sex gefüllt, scheint ja mittlerweile so Usus zu sein, leider und dann wird alles noch mal aus anderer Perspektive erzählt. Mit diesem Teil dachte ich jetzt es gibt ein vernünftiges Ende, aber ehrlicherweise war es mehr Wiederholung als alles andere. Man kann so eine Geschichte auch nervig in die Länge ziehen. Wirklich schade
