I'm pregnant, FTM, so I've been binging quite a few pregnancy books. I usually find them a bit annoying, because the readers tend to read them out in a very emotional manner, as if I'm in need of comforting and am about to break, if I'm not spoken to gently enough. This book was pleasantly neutral! I felt like it was read in a normal tone and it was informative. The book is long, but it's only because so many topics are covered. It doesn't feel stretched, the opposite, the chapters are well - but not over - explained. Will be recommending this to future mom's in my circles for sure, and might even come back to some chapters later on if my memory needs refreshing. If you only read/listen to one preggo book, this one's a good option!

lovely and neutral

I was hoping to get some good information based on either scientific studies or her practical experience as a midwife to help me navigate pregnancy and birth, but I got very little of that. Most of the book is just common sense that I don't need to be told, and actual useful information is glossed over.

underwhelming
