View into the past

I am a huge Dylan fan but less familiar with Van Ronk. I enjoyed the book. It’s less a regular autobiography of the author than more a overview of the past scene in New York. Thus even interesting for people who are not so familiar with Van Ronk. I wish there would be a bit more about Dylan in his book but…well it’s both a Dylan book after all :) I would recommend it.

A delicate reminiscence about “golden era” of folk music

A great and authentic look back at the late 50’s and 60’s in the village by one of its main figures.
Insightful on topics such as what folk music is and how it came about to delightful anecdotes which will make you smirk and laugh - a real delight through and through.
