Nice setup in the middle ages with tons of details make it interesting to follow, however the main story is a copy from his other books and too predictable.

Wer die Säulen der Erde möchte, wird dieses Prequel lieben. Eine Geschichte um das Jahr 1000, mitreißend und spannend bis zum letzten Satz. Mit John Lee als Sprecher ein genussvolles Hörvergnügen.

I really enjoyed this story. Ken Follett managed again to make the story interesting. The good ones were great, rightful and gifted and the bad ones evil and nasty. And even knowing this I fevered with Edward,Ragna and Allred all the time and nearly could stop.
John Lee also did a great job giving a voice to the book with all its characters.
The only bad thing with this book is, that it is definitely the last of the series.
