Über diesen Titel
In The Burnout Fix, award-winning psychologist and board-certified leadership coach Dr. Jacinta M. Jimenez shows you how to harness science-backed resilience strategies to survive, and thrive, in today's "always on, always connected" world - where a reported 60 percent of employees report being stressed out all or most of the time at work.
Packed with compelling, real-world stories from years of coaching and the latest research in positive, social, and motivational psychology, The Burnout Fix shows how neglecting to nurture your personal pulse can undermine all your efforts at working harder and "smarter". You'll learn how to integrate healthy personal "PULSE" practices into all aspects of your life, from pacing for performance and leveraging leisure time to securing a support system and evaluating how to regain control of your time and priorities.
Whether you are an individual who wishes to build out a set of lasting resilience capabilities or a leader dedicated to keeping your team or organization engaged and flourishing, The Burnout Fix will reshape the way you think about success while giving you - and your people - the tools and strategies you need to thrive.

75min in, I gave up
Disappointment. This is the feeling I have from my experience with this book.
First 45min was Intro. Starts interesting for 5min with a personal story and then goes on 40min what should have been a cover text. Who's the author and what did she achieve and countless claims how good the techniques in this book will be and how scientific they will be and how much it will help and examples of people who it helped. Not a single ounce of knowledge or stimulating ideas. But okay, maybe this is just the intro which is very "salesy"?
Trying the first "content" chapter. 30min in, still no content. Anecdotes of people who broke things down into smaller steps. But just 30min of anecdotes so far. I understand the value of underpinning a key point with examples and making them relatable - fine. But this isn't underpinning, this is omitting key points in favor of telling stories.
Someone please tell the author to start with key messages first before loosing themselves in anecdotes.
Edit: I gave it a second try. The second content chapter was actually okay. When having worrying thoughts, question the assumptions and validity and decide to take action. Content chapter 3 was "taking breaks, silence and time for yourself and your thoughts help" - I agree but it was not particularly convincing. Chapter 4 - you need a social support network - I skipped after the same issues from the start: Anecdotes. Anecdotes, More anecdotes. Chapter 5 - cut the list of things you focus on - was also not convincing. I will stop this now for good.
