Entgegen einiger Rezensionen muß ich sagen, dass ich von der Sprecherin begeistert war. Sie hat den typisch englischen Humor trocken rübergebracht, so dass ich laut im Auto lachen musste. Die Stimme war angenehm und gut zu verstehen.
Die Geschichte ist kurzweilig und gut geschrieben. Ich freue mich bereits auf den nächsten Teil im nächsten Jahr.

I really loved this book! It has the same quality as the last two in terms of story. Still love the charactera, still love the clever twists and turn.
The new narrator does a decent job. It must be hard to fill those roles when another person has already given them their perfect voices. I must say, that this narrator lacks a bit of the power in their voice to believably talk for those absolute power women in the story. Everyone sounds a bit more frail and old and sometimes even quite tired. This unfortunately does not work for me. However, I appreaciate that the new narrator at least tried to have some of the different characteristics right. I could tell that she listened to the previous narrator and put her own spin on it.

Die Senioren-Truppe, von der man nicht wusste, dass man sie in seinem Leben braucht, ist für den 3. Teil zurück. Es macht einfach Spaß, Joyce, Elizabeth & Co. bei ihren Abenteuern zu begleiten.
Zuerst war ein wenig enttäuscht, dass Lesley Manville diesen Teil nicht liest, aber Fiona Shaw macht es genauso großartig. Freue mich schon sehr auf Band 4.

That warm fuzzy feeling

Hardly possible, but I liked this third Thursday Murder Club even better than the first two books. Richard Osman is so beautifully tender with all his characters, his humor continues to be subtle and British at the same time, the plot twists and twists, but still drives forward …

In addition, The Bullet that Missed combines the respective strengths of the prior books: a manifold cast and an ever progressing plot. Another gem of a book.

Some comments reflect a bit of disappointment with Fiona Shaw as a reader. Not my opinion. She is an excellent reader.

Finally a comment on the interview wit the author that comes with every of the books. Usually, I am weary about these interviews. It often feels like they are just to beef up the nominal length of the audio book. Not in this case. The way Richard Osman speaks about his characters and the way his books develop is as beautiful as the books themselves.

Six stars out of five!

I really enjoyed the third adventure of these four lovely elderly detectives. After reading the comments here, I don’t quite understand all the fuss about the new narrator. Lesley Manville gave magnificent performances in the past two audiobooks, but Fiona Shaw also does the job quite well. It's a change, she has her own approach and brings different nuances to the characters. Perhaps some listeners should take a cue from the residents of Cooper’s Chase and be open to new things. It’s definitely worth a try.
