Great start to a magical story
I was quite pleased with the storyline, but it feels a bit rough around the edges. Magic is an important and present topic and although the main character develops his abilties in a surprisingly quick manner I hope to learn more about how he possesses these abilities in the next book.
Sometimes I was annoyed with the performance since Alex Wyndham seems to enjoy consequently emphasizing the last word of the SENTENCE. This pattern holds true even if the last word of the sentence is BANAL, therefore throwing me out of immersion on several OCCASIONS. Now I'm going to get myself a glass of WATER and afterwards I might enjoy listening to the next BOOK.
