Tina Packer
Über diesen Titel
Legendary actress and Shakespearean expert Tina Packer takes all the fear out of understanding Shakespeare by adapting 10 of the Bard’s most famous plays into easily understood short stories, retold in modern language. Her introduction provides the listener with easy-to-digest information about Elizabethan England and Shakespeare’s life and work.
The stories: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, As You Like It, Macbeth, The Tempest, Othello, Twelfth Night, and Romeo and Juliet.
At the end of the recording, exclusively for Audible, Tina Packer performs three of her favorite Shakespearean monologues. After listening to the stories, it will be easy to guess which plays they are from!
Tina Packer is the internationally renowned founder of the premiere theater company Shakespeare and Co and has acted in and directed many productions of the tales retold here.
“We're passionate about bringing the classics to today’s listeners in fun, relevant and easy-to-listen-to audiobooks”, says co-producer Alison Larkin.
"As soon as I learned that Tina has turned 10 of Shakespeare’s most famous plays into short stories I knew they would make for an entertaining and important audiobook. We're thrilled to have partnered with Shakespeare & Company to help make this happen".
