Excellent Information for Anyone Interested in Nutrition's Impact on Health
This is the best book I've "heard" on nutrition. Unlike most books of this genre, it doesn't focus on diet in terms of weight loss, but instead offers interesting insight into the micronutrients in foods and recommendations on foods that offer the most nutritional bang for your buck. What surprised me most was that I like nearly all of the foods suggested here, such as blueberries, salmon, sweet potatoes, almonds, oats and spinach. He extends every category with "super sidekicks" so you have options in case you don't like any of the main superfoods. Dr. Pratt's approach is simple and straightforward. The information provided is absolutely essential and the tips offered (e.g. recipes for incorporating tasty but unusual foods, like pumpkin, into your diet) are very useful. The changes in my diet I made after reading this book are probably the key drivers in my improved health (haven't been sick since I read it!) and increased energy. Note that he also has another, longer book that includes information on super spices and other topics.
