Über diesen Titel
In this stunning ninth book in the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie and her friends discover the true meaning of power—and evil.
Sophie Foster changed the game.
Now she’s facing impossible choices:
When to act.
When to trust.
When to let go.
Her friends are divided and scattered, and the Black Swan wants Sophie to focus on their projects. But her instincts are leading her somewhere else.
Stellarlune—and the mysterious Elysian—might be the key to everything. But finding truth in the Lost Cities always requires sacrifice. And as the Neverseen’s plans sharpen into terrifying focus, it appears that everyone has miscalculated. The Lost Cities’ greatest lie could destroy everything. And in the battle that follows, only one thing is certain: Nothing will ever be the same.
©2022 Shannon Messenger (P)2022 Audible, Inc.But can we take a moment and recognize Caitlin Kelly, the narrator? She does such an amazing job keeping everyone straight and giving everyone a personality in her reading of these books. She has even made their voices seem like they are age appropriate, not an easy feat given that many characters started in their early teen years and are approaching adulthood by this book. I have a feeling when the movies come out I'll be disappointed that they didn't find characters that have different voices from the audio book.
Everyone in my family loves this series

Oh mein Gott

I really wanted to love this book. I was so disappointed with the blatant moneygrab that was ‘Unlocked’ that I was desperately hoping we’d finally get some answers in this ninth (!) installment of this series.
Unfortunately, my hopes were shattered after I read nearly 50 pages and all the characters had done by that point, was argue about the same dumb things they have been arguing about for the last four books.
I feel like this series should have ended four books ago. I used to love this series, but everything feels so drawn out and uninspired now.
I miss the fun at Foxfire, I miss the drama-free banter between characters, I miss any sense of a plot or even any logic for that matter.
All we get is more of the same old arguing, relationship drama nobody asked for, the only decent character being done really dirty for the sake of some tired love triangle trope…
Really miss Messenger, why do Fitz dirty like that? I liked Fitz as a character and you went just made his whole charachter pull a 180 on us. It doesn’t make sense.
Yes, he was kind of a jerk about the whole ‘unmatchable’ thing, but to go and turn him into the ‘villain’ just because he had some insecurities about it, is just unfair.
I understand where he is coming from. I see how dating someone unmatchable would make him scared, given the fact that he comes from a family that puts a lot of pressure and expectations on him. That does not make him the bad guy, that makes him more relatable.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the banter between Sophie and Keefe, and I can see why fans would ship them. They have had a good chemistry from the beginning. But I just feel like the whole Sophie and Keefe thing was shoehorned in for the sake of fan service. I feel like they worked beautifully as close friends, so why ship them and pull this stupid, tired love triangle trope on us?
It is all becoming very repetitive and you just feel that the author doesn’t really know where to go with her story anymore. So she just keeps using the same tired plotlines over and over, instead of FINALLY giving us at the very least SOME o the answers we have been waiting for since 2012.
To make matters even worse, we get a 700+ pages book, ending in yet another annoying cliffhanger and with once again zero answers. The story gets so drawn out, I don’t even remember half of it, and I just finished it yesterday.
Please let the next book be the last in the series, and please make it good and give us some closure, before the beautiful world that Messenger created gets ruined completely.
Tired and drawn out story
