The story itself is quite good and gives a nice portrait of Leia’s character in her forties. But the Narrator was amazing, she made the story and the experience in general much more engaging. I would like to listen to more audiobooks read by her.

Hab den Titel entdeckt, weil ich von Claudia Grays "Lost Worlds" Roman so begeistert war. Dieser hier ist auch gut, kommt aber lange nich an jenen ran. Die Charaktere sind toll, die Geschichte hat mich aber nicht komplett begeistert. Aber sehr viele interessante Dinge, z.B. wie die Neue Republik so verkommen wurde und die Erste Ordnung so stark werden konnte.

The story is super important for the sequels. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there are more suitable voice actors - from other books you are used to hearing virtually no difference to the normal voices - as well as the sound effects. This is also much better in other Star Wars books.

The narrator does a good job, except when it comes to 3PO.
The story is not really gripping. Politics can make for exciting drama, but here it felt flat, simplistic and two-dimensional. Moreover, in the light of the plot of Episode IX it barely even makes sense anymore.
I'm a bit disappointed with the production. A scene set in a bar on a planet that outsiders almost never visit is given background audio full of alien voices, i.e. the track with the rodent sounds that pops up in several other SW audio books and loops repetitively after a minute.
In another scene, a squadron of X-Wing pilots is taking shape as prospective members come together, and the music that producers chose for the end of the scene is... the Imperial March?!
