Über diesen Titel
A thrilling adventure based on the hit television series Star Trek: Picard.
Star Trek: No Man’s Land picks up right after the action-packed season one conclusion of Star Trek: Picard. While Raffi and Seven of Nine are enjoying some much-needed R&R in Raffi’s remote hideaway, their downtime is interrupted by an urgent cry for help: a distant, beleaguered planet has enlisted the Fenris Rangers to save an embattled evacuation effort. As Raffi and Seven team up to rescue a mysteriously ageless professor whose infinity-shaped talisman has placed him in the deadly sights of a vicious Romulan warlord, they take tentative steps to explore the attraction depicted in the final moments of Picard season one. Based on the hit audio original, fans can now read this riveting script with fan-favorite characters.

A heart-moving story and performance
This story beautifully fills in some of the gaps in the Seven and Raffi’s relationship between seasons 1 and 2 of Star Trek Picard, and it does in a both moving, adventurous and humorous manner, with a brilliantly performing full cast. Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd in particular show a moving rendition of the struggle the two characters face as they head towards the adventure of love, and integrating two quite different life styles, fears and expectations. Thank you for this gem!

Amazingly good (spoiler alert)
It came as a surprise in the show to see the first kiss between two women after, what, sixty years of Star Trek? And then they got it right: instead of falling for the "bury your gays" trope, as other shows infamously did, Seven was promoted to Captain and she and Raffi (as her XO) were given the command of the re-christened Titan, now Enterprise. So, we have several firsts in Star Trek: Picard: First female couple, first queer lead characters, first time that a woman commands the Enterprise, first time a queer person commands the Enterprise, first time that actually a couple commands the Enterprise (okay, their relationship status at that time wasn't 100% clear, it's complicated, but isn't it always?)
No Man's Land came as a surprise and neatly fills the gap between season one and season 2, fleshing out a background story for Seven as Fenris Ranger and her developing relationship with Raffi. This really is far more than an audio book, and thanks to the soundtrack and the cast, especially of course Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan, it more feels like an internalized movie than a radio play. It is action packed, funny, sensual, on point for the characters and the story is interesting as well. It's really a great way to fill a story gap when the background story for whatever reason, budget, time constrained, couldn't be told in the main series. In this case it really works. For me personally it actually is more interesting than the, say, big ship stories of Star Trek. Always the Flagship and the entire Fleet if required and it's always about the fate of the world or the Galaxy. So as strange as that might sound: No Man's Land is set far away from the home planet and yet it is much more down to Earth than most other Star Trek stories. We also get to know these two enticing women more intimately, who they are, what they stand for, what makes them tick and, of course, how far especially Seven, a long time fan favorite, has come over almost a generation of time.
At the end of the series itself Seven even comes to terms with her much unloved deceased Captain of the Titan, where she was XO before. On his last breath he finally brings himself to calling her Seven instead of Ms Hansen, dictating her officer evaluation. He embraces her Fenris Ranger and also Borg past, referring to her as basically undisciplined and uncontrollable, stating that she keeps breaking rules, all the time. He then adds that maybe the rules she breaks have always been broken. He says he always followed the book and the book was oh so boring, encourages Seven to go out there and write her own book. Seven wants to resign, thinking she doesn't fit in Star Fleet, but Admiral Tuvok (obviously) declines, makes her Captain instead. In the end we see her and her new crew, including her partner and XO Raffi, shooting off into the Galaxy. The atmosphere is that they still are Fenris Rangers by style, but they are now sitting in a major starship and have (most likely reluctant) backup on call if needed, plus they have two admiral friends behind them.
Hey Star Trek production team: If those two won't get their own series that would be a MAJOR opportunity lost! You are on the right path here...
