Über diesen Titel
SHARPE IS BACK.
The brand new novel from Bernard Cornwell in the global bestselling Sharpe series.
If any man can do the impossible it's Richard Sharpe . . .
And the impossible is exactly what the formidable Major Sharpe is asked to do when he's dispatched on an undercover mission behind enemy lines, deep in the Spanish countryside.
For a remote village is about to become the centre of a battle for the future of Europe. Sitting high above the Almaraz bridge, it is the last link between two French armies, one in the north and one in the south; if they meet, the British are doomed.
Only Sharpe's small group of men – with their cunning and courage to rely on – stand in their way. But they're rapidly outnumbered, enemies are hiding in plain sight, and time is running out . . .
SHARPE’S COMMAND is the brand new novel in the bestselling historical series that has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

Stupid troopers against smart rebels?!
As a big fan of the Sharpe series, I'm split, in my opinion, after this book. Even though many fans will probably be happy to see "La Aguja" and "Dan Hagman" again, this story isn't as well-rounded as it could have been. Compared to other books in the series, the protagonists act very inconsistently. Some of the dialogues are just clumsy. The action occurs in such a cramped space that you wonder how the sequence of events described could have been possible. While in other episodes, the French army is usually an equal opponent, this time, it sounds more like "the stupid troopers of the Empire against the smart rebels on Endor."
Above all, however, Richard Sharpe's way of thinking and acting doesn't fit properly. You rather get the feeling that the Sharp from "Sharpe's Devil" has traveled back in time with all his experiences and memories. A story was "utilized" here to be able to bring another book onto the market. What a pity.
I would go so far as to say that Bernard Cornwell edited this volume ... but did not write it.
