It just didn't do it for me
After I finished the last book of The Raven Cycle series, by Maggie Stiefvater, I wanted to continue my exploration with young adult books. I got the recommendation for this book by chance and I decided to buy it and listen to it.
• personally, the narrator's voice did absolutely nothing for me. Shrill in some places, which I suppose has something to do with acting out scenes in the book
• Because of this, I found myself really irritated and annoyed at times
• sometimes I felt like it was a tad too much "acting " for me (eye roll)
• I felt like there was way more intrigue in Maggie's characters, I didn't relate to these as much as I would have liked too
• there is so much maaaagic in Maggie's books and mind you, I am not a young adult anymore BUT I absolutely enjoy her books
Long story short, I was foolish to have such high expectations after reading such wonderful books by Maggie Stiefvater and I would not recommend this book to a friend.
