The action scenes are written with a great attention to detail and are quite thrilling. No doubt because the author has actually experienced a good part of what he is writing about.

Apart from that, I found it rather hard to empathize with the main character. He is always on top of things and every conflict he is facing seems to be purely external to him. Unable to be shaken, James Reece lives in a totally manichaean world, where good, capable men will prevail while the incapable villains loses - Therefore the plot is a bit predictable.

Still, I was very much entertained.
