Savage Lands is set in the same world as the Darkness, Collector and Lightness Saga series, but can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Sex and violence but no plot
The beginning was fantastic, with a really interesting setting, a strong and smart heroine, the perfect amount of romance, and a many-layered plot. However, instead of building on this, the later story maintains a monotonously high level of violence and sex, which in itself did not capture me. There was not much else going on, with little initiative from the heroine and many seemingly random plot points, so in the end, this book was not for me. The bigger picture might be revealed in the later books, but it was not hinted at enough to raise my curiosity. If you are looking for shades of grey fanfic meets the gladiator, this might be perfect. If you are looking for a more intricate plot like me, you might want to consider to keep looking.

Oversexualized fantasy
This could’ve been a really good story! In the end I wasn’t able to listen to the last hour of this audiobook due too the oversexualization of the story.
This book might be just the right fit for you, if you’re interested in pornographic content with a heroine who gets aroused by life threatening situations and is frequently told, that she likes it rough. You might also enjoy this book if you like exhibitionistic sexual settings, overstylized, super beautiful characters, hyper sexual and overpowered protagonists as well, as repeated, mentions of exaggerated male physiques.
There were quite a few side characters, I would’ve been interested in. Unfortunately, they didn’t get a lot of exposure and were mainly implement it as tools to drive the sexual story forward.
