Über diesen Titel
One night will never be enough.
I'm never letting a shrink in my head again. My pants, though? Dr. Scott Howard has been there, done that, and left an imprint on my soul.
It was supposed to be a one-night stand, but I can't get Howie out of my mind. He's my brother's shrink. Nothing else can happen between us. So why can't I stop kissing him?
Howie's not like any shrink I've ever met. One kiss leads to another and before I know it, he doesn't just know my mind...he has my heart.
But will he want to stick around when he finds out just how messed up I really am?

Vanguard Towers 05 - Owen & Howie
Owen, the dedicated EMT, has had an obvious aversion agains psychiatrists for years. What a twist of fate that when he meets Dr Scott Howard, who treats his brother Brax, the attaction is instant between them. They seem to be bumping into each other constantly at the youth centre, fundraiserers or the Vanguard Tower, and Howie shows clearly he wants to get to know Owen better. But Owen hates shrinks despite what his heart is telling him.
Aiden Bates has Owen&Howie go through a thick wall of stubborness and patience (mostly on Howie's part) until both can carry a half way normal conversation. They seem surprised their growing up holds many simmularities. And there is a deep dark secret Owen has been hiding from his brothers, persistently eating away at him. The storyline is well structured and casual things, like Howie's old car, play an importent role towards the end. Just the epiloge somewhat crashed my dreams of enjoying the twins and Hunter's full length stories next. The summary told by Sean a year later feels like a wrap it all up end of the series, but I hope it is not.
Guillaume Dubois' voice is perfect for sophisticated Howie and brash-off Owen. The red head EMT had been „my“ Vanguard Tower brother ever since book 01, always in action and around, blending in well with the others and not seeming to draw much attention on himself. Patiently I had been waiting for his story, and it held a lot of twists and emotions. The drunken bar and accident site scenes were interpreted by Mr. Dubois so emotionally, that I bit my lower lip, searched for cleenex and worried deeply for those two sweet stubborn men. I am still hoping to meet the Vanguard Tower brothers again! Especially Sean and Shane's story has absolutely picked my curiousity.
