Kate and Andy are back! I had been eagerly waiting for their new adventure. First our two likeable heroines navigate their jobs and private life together. Then both are send to Hidden Valley, a luxury resort for the rich and political ambitious, to inverstigate a mysterieous death in connection with a weird flu outbreak. While Kate fights for the lives of the infected patients, Andy tries to find the mastermind behind this artifically altered virus.Was mochten Sie an der Handlung am liebsten?
This time there is more discussing, researching and inverstigating and less action than in „Trigger“. The plot is multilayered and cleverly built, but one needs to follow it carefully as Kate's search for a successful treatment moves deeply into the pathological-biological field. For me, with medical background no challenge, but I can imagine for other listeners this might feel a bit too lengthly and exhausting. The end with unmasking the villain and his motive comes suddenly and is unexpected and sad at the same time. So is the cliffhanger of Kate's and Andy's personal relationship development.Welche Figur hat Ruby Rivers Ihrer Meinung nach am besten interpretiert?
Ruby Rivers has done another marvellous job narrating this thriller. With her voice talent the various characters from Hidden Valley come „alive“. I specially loved her interpetation of obnoxious Dr.Mona Keller and the verbal sparring duells with Kate. I truely felt with Kate for fighting a loosing battle, wanting to do more but being not able to help. Her frustration, exhaustion and her busy working mind is beautifully portrayed by Mrs Rivers.Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?
Again not an easy read with two strong, determined women fighting a biochemical terror threat from an unlikely source, which makes the end feel even more scary.It left me with a bitter taste thinking about misuse of human research.
