More of a movie script than a book.

Some scenes even resemble - almost trope - Movie or TV scenes.


Positives: Intresting premise, (overpopulation, segregated society, working FTL travel)
Negative: The Premise is not well explored, it is simply stated that it is, an not much time and effort is put into the how and why, and more importantly WHY NOT. The implications of the technology and societal structure are only barely touched upon (I find this very important for a Sci-Fi Story)
Positives: a likable male protagonist. useful secondary and side charcters.
Negative: I have a hard time emphatizing with anyone. Not enough background and interaction to care much. Some interactions feel unnatural.

It doesnt feel like a finished product, even in a trilogy a books have to stand on their own.

Its also very short.

Simply not enogh time and care is given to the story, the world or the characters.

So In Summary: It feels more like a movie script than a book. Some scenes even resemble - almost trope - Movie or TV scenes. I personally could imagine this to be a script of a failed movie pitch repurposed for a book.
