Love and heartbreak at the same time
This story is love and heartbreak at the same time. It was real and devastating but filled with hope. The main characters treated each other with kindness and respect, and they communicated so well! I was half expecting the story to go into the typical tropes of miscommunication or drama but I appreciated it so much when it didn’t. Joel Leslie as always an excellent narrator.

Joel Leslie rocks - again!
I got this one because ever since the Red Dirt series I am a fan of Joel Leslie - his accent, the way he brings the characters to live, the precision and care of his narration - it feels not so much like a job but like a labor of love when he performs.
So - I got this one - and the story is not super exciting - but tender and sweet. Predictable maybe - but well written and skillfully and swiftly brought along. I LOVED "Galaxies and Oceans" by N.R. Walker - this is similar - and if you want one for the heart - this one is for you. If you are triggered by domestic abuse - this might not be for you btw.

Many tears for different reasons
Both men lived through gruesome experiences before they met. CJ's hard life was so much harder to leave behind.
But CJ, Noah and Pops made it happen.
Seeing them not only survive but thrive and help others makes this book feel like a cosy blanket.
I love listening to Joel Leslie, he did a great job narrating this book.

Really really nice
Die Geschichte hat mich sehr berührt und zum Nachdenken angeregt. Die Liebesgeschichte geht richtig ans Herz. Joel Leslie... THE BEST
