They banned him from space. But someone has offered him a way back. Can he afford the price? Famed engineer and test pilot Jericho Fox has been grounded for reasons he'd rather put behind him. But a political leader from a rival party offers to send him back to space.
Fox finds himself stuck between working for the enemy and doing what he loves again. Meanwhile, high above Earth on Astraea Station, decorated astrophysicist Dr. Evelyn Park is on the verge of a scientific breakthrough that could make history.
All she needs is for people and equipment to stop bungling things up. Getting both to cooperate will prove harder than she expects. From best-selling novelist Christopher Hopper, who brought you Imperium Descent, Ruins of the Earth, and Ruins of the Galaxy, and with the voice talents of Rebecca Woods and Daniel Wisniewski, comes a new hard scifi space thriller that fans say is "next in line to The Expanse."

Dear gods, its hard to get through parts of this.
I nearly stopped listening after five minutes, the horribly accented fake German accent that is honestly hard to listen too. Maybe I have spent too long living in Germany and hearing real German accents, but it nearly killed it for me.
I toughed it out and mostly enjoyed the story. The male main character is a relatable guy just trying to get by and making the best of his situation. He gets a wacky side kick who is mildly amusing, The story while following the male lead makes sense and the recations around him are mostly situationally beleavable.
Then there is the female lead... Ugh. She seems to go out of her way to make things difficult for herself and it is in no way beleavable or understandable how she made it into the position she is in. The child-like self delusion works on my nerves and destroys the story she is supposed to be selling. Everything she does seems designed to forge her own destiny and screw everyone else who may even look like they are going to get in her way. She is abrasive, rude, intrusive and manipulative, How is it then that all her collegues and bosses like her? She yells at them and spends all her time making their lives a living hell and yet she is some kind of team lead and everyone likes her? I mean, how?
She goes so far as to attack a member of the police and she does not see anything wrong with this, the officer was being unpleasent, true, but she justified the attack as him getting between her and her work.
The female lead is totally unbeleavable and hard to enguage with. The male lead is fun and between him and his side kick there are a few moments of comic gold.
I would not recommend this book to others to be honest, at least not in audio book form, though the story is good its a little hard to listen to at times because of the female character. This is not a reflection on the vocal abilities of the female voice actress, its just the way the character is written.
