I picked this up after reading many modern thrillers and Agatha Christie is truly the Queen of crime. I didn’t know this book yet and I don’t know how I had missed this previously. A great story and wonderfully performed. I also loved the setting of British snobs on an archaeological dig in Iraq.

Well, this is the first novel of Agatha Christie which didn't impress me and I was rather glad to finish it. Personally the nurse is even more foolish and far more annoying than Hastings.
Also the narrator has a terrible accent for Hercule Poirot and was all in all not very convincing. It might be better or more enjoyable with a different narrator.

The plot of the story was interesting, even though some plot points were quite obvious if you are an avid reader of Poirots cases.
I did not particulary like Anna Massey as the narrator, the voices of the different characters are not distinct enough in my opinion and her French accent is really quite bad.

Not one of Poirots best cases...
