Intriguing but not as good as the previous book.
Movieland is an interesting read that takes place in the sometimes controversial world of Hollywood. The book starts off strong, with a murder that takes place in the Malibu Hills. The plot is well-paced and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader well entertained.
One of the strengths of the book is once again the partnership between Eve Ronin and her witty partner Duncan Pavone. They are such a great team, with an excellent chemistry! The book also does a good job of exploring human greed, lust and the struggle for political power.
Unfortunately, the book does slow down a bit in the middle and the ending is a bit predictable. It’s not as good as the previous book in the series, Gated Prey, but Movieland is also an entertaining read and I enjoyed this fourth book of Eve Ronin series too.
