Über diesen Titel
Imbued with superhuman power, a young woman becomes the ultimate weapon, in this post-apocalyptic cyberpunk series from the bestselling author of Death: Genesis.
Ninety years ago, Earth was consumed—and irrevocably transformed—by a cloud of alien nanites known as the Mist, bestowing humanity with uncanny abilities and enhancing technology far beyond early twenty-first century science. But these advancements came at a high price: Billions are dead. The planet has been overrun by vicious monsters. And alien overlords await the opportunity to swoop in and exploit what remains of Earth and its people for all their worth.
Mirabelle Braddock was born into this much-changed world. In the megacity of Nova, built above the flooded ruins of New Orleans, she lives a privileged, though isolated, life as the niece of Jeremiah Braddock. Jeremiah survived the onset of the Mist to become one of the planet's most dangerous men, and he intends to use his hard-earned power to accomplish a single goal: train Mira to withstand Earth's imminent Integration into the larger galaxy.
Soon, the alien factions waiting in the wings will descend and strip the planet bare, leaving little more than a wasteland. To ensure Mira's survival, Jeremiah has given her a unique Tier 7 Nexus Implant, granting her abilities heretofore unseen. Further augmented with cybernetics and an arsenal of advanced weaponry, Mira has the potential to become the most powerful being on Earth—and possibly even save the world from its seemingly inevitable destruction.
The first volume of the hit cyberpunk LitRPG series—with more than 500,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Good story

Gut aber es fehlt so viel

The hero has a super-rich uncle, who buys her the best of the best, so the development is basically only to train a bit, which is the only story at least for the first 13h (I got too bored and stopped listening). The idea of the world is ok, but not really thought through, e.g. "civilization" is living on a floating city and underneath is wilderness, with monsters, raiders and some old towns, so far so good. However, Uncle supports one of those cities in bringing weapons, etc. Somehow, they have to drive. Just for the sake of a fight, the lead vehicle gets blown up, the hero of course, survives. The other cars have force shields, so they hold until the hero and her uncle kill of the raiders. In the city, she finds alot of stuff that even the rich in the city can't afford, like books, bananas, shrimps ... right, if this stuff is so expensive, why not send traders or raiders?
The fights and there are many of them are so repetitive, that I dozed off. The world has magic-like items, like a virtual inventory, hacking is done via solving magic puzzles, and there are many other skills, but they just don't fit into a Cyberpunk world.
The narrator is doing her very best, so kudos to her.
Not enough story, background or logic

LitRPG Elements are far too long and distracting, minutes and minutes of narrated lists with no impact. Would have been better to only focus on the tiny changes and their impact on her growth.
The MC has zero agency because uncle knows best how to make a teenage child soldier in three easy steps. Nearly the whole story is about forced brutal training to make the poor girl "fit for the coming changes". This might be reasonable within the world they found themselves in but child abuse (in my personal perception) isn't that entertaining for me.
SciFi Cyberware exists and some sort of hacking too (mistwalking) but it's far from cyberpunk. The mention of solving non descriptive number puzzles is all we get for breaking into systems. Everything SciFi here is mystical alien nano-tech so easily replaceable with any other magic system. This can be good if it is handled better within the world building.
To finish with something positive:
The skill system and how to get it is a nice idea, of course not unique to this story.
The narration is absolutely fantastic, Soneela Nankani did great job here.
Not for me, sorry
