I was drawn to this book via a tiktok pov promising me a young woman trying to exorcise a demon she summoned by accident and a demon who thinks she's coming on to him.

And it was all that and a bag of chips y'all.
The book was way fun. Mal might just be the most adorable MMC I've ever read. He's so sweet and endearing.

At times their dynamic made me sad at times because while most of Mals pov's consist of how to best bring her joy, how to apppeal to her and just him thinking about how amazing and beautiful she is and how much he loved her ever since he felt their bond and wondering what he can do for her to spare him a look, word of touch, her pov's are mostly her thinking of how to get rid of him.

He was so painfully fallen for her, like a fluffy lovesick puppy, who'd so anything for their owner. But in a cute way.

And you cant be mad at Shannon either because, who'd take a stranger up on a life long bonding, after not even speaking tjeir language for the first day or so of knowing them. A demon monster you know nothing about? Can't blame the girl.

Whenever she in her panic says nope, he's all like "I understand my mate, i shall never do anything that does not please or comfort you, even if it is not pleasant for me to do so, I can deny you nothing"


All in all it's a really cute, way fun read. That got me out of my reading slump, and its got some spicy for sure. Everyone is sweet and fun and i loved reading it.

i trusted the review that called him utterly devoted and full on puppy love and god he is all of that and then some. it was delightful and spicy in perfect doses to keep him believable and constant. That review mentioned the FMC is too focused on getting rid of him and i do have to disagree even while that is technically a correct statement. her reasons shift as time goes on and she gets to know him and while the thought of sending him back stays a long time, it's not terribly repetitive or stupid. The relationship develops quite beautifully and I just wish it had been fleshed out a bit more. the story potential was absolutely there but either way i got 6 hours of this endearing love story and if you have a spare credit - go for it ♡
