Über diesen Titel

Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast, where we discover that there is a little beauty and a little beast in all of us.

So, sooo beautiful!

Love this romantic story. I especially like that it doesn't need the exchange of bodily fluids to show how deep the feelings of the characters run.

The characters are greatly loveable, both, the male and the female one as well as the lesser ones.

Rob Shapiro did an amazing job bringing all the people to live with his wonderful voice. The narration in itself is worth another 5 stars!

I enjoyed listening to this book a great deal.

One of the best novel I've read.

10 deserving ☆'s
Amy Harmon never disappoints readers of her Books. After reading 6 of her books, she is officially my Favorite Author.
"Making Faces" is one of my Top All-Time Favorite book (Together with "From Sand and Ash", "Law of Moses" and her latest "The Smallest Part")
I love everything about this book. The story....about Friendship, Acceptance, Loss, Forgiveness, Faith, Family, Love and Falling In Love. It has everything to touch your heart and emotions in the Amy Harmon's beautiful style of writing that captivates you.
I love all three Main Characters!
Fern, she is so humble, pure and good hearted.
Ambrose, in true sense, a real Hercules and protector with a heart of gold.
And BAILEY! Oh how I loved Bailey. He is A TRUE HERO. An inspiration and a blessing. He will make you laugh, he will make you cry and he will touch you with his strength and courage. I fell in love with all three characters that Amy Harmon so beautifully created in this wonderfully crafted masterpiece of a story.
There's so much Life's Lessons that could be learned from Fern, Ambrose and Bailey. Each have their own burden and challenges that they are dealing with. All together, it makes you reflect in yourself how important it is to LIVE IN THE MOMENT. To APPRECIATE the little things in your everyday life one takes for granted, appreciate LIFE....that each has their own time table and you'll never know when your time would be up, that real BEAUTY....is the Light within you that shines. So never judge from how you see a person on the outside.
This book is not only a Masterpiece but an Inspiration. It will make you cry and break you. But will uplift you.

5 sparkly stars.

It's kind of a quite book. No action (or almost none), no steamy romance. And still, it's very intense.
The characters are beautifully sculptured and although the story is not fast paced, it's still a page turner.

Rob Shapiro is the narrator and he has done a great, great job.
I love his voice, but in this case it's more than that. He reads very sensitive without being sappy. I also like that he reads the female character without changing his voice to an unnatural whining.

As I said, 5 sparkly stars.

Eigentlich 2.75 Sterne

Leider zu flach von der Tiefe. Absehbar und etwas langweilig. Alle sind zu schnell wieder geheilt.
Eher YA.
Schade, denn AH kann es besser
