Über diesen Titel
Cate Granger and Jack Monroe are enjoying life far away from the deep-sea horrors of their past...but the ghosts still haunt them.
Russian billionaire and former friend Sonya Borashev tells them of a newly discovered cave in Antarctica that leads deep beneath the frozen continent. It's from these icy depths that Sonya believes a remnant species of megalodon shark has been set loose and that these ancient monsters are not only alive but thriving.
With a recent spate of horrifying attacks, Sonya leads an expedition to put an end to the monsters for good. And she wants Cate and Jack with her – whether they like it or not.
But beneath the dark ice, they uncover things even deadlier, even more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.

Careful what you fish for
First of all, I have to state that I have been a long time massive fan of Becks works. Finding him after starting out with Reilly felt like a fresh wind in the action novel shelf.
How ever I gotta say his last few books have felt weeker and weeker both in story and in originality. Now hearing this, I got to say, and it breaks my heart, that this book has unfortunately broken the last straw for me. I will have to take a break from his novels for now to wait for the reviews first and not buying first day.
The story in this one is just plainly speaking bad. It makes no sense what so ever. Without spoiling anything, how can it be that the same billionair that has already encountered the sharks now 2 times is for some reason by far worse prepared for her big final revenge mission than she has been in the last 2 books. I know it is a story thing so everything can go overboard but common. I mean for example she brings not a single military person ? The weapons are worse? No new fancy sub but only reseach boats and "pleasure subs" (not my description)...
And don't let me get started on the epilogue...
I just don't know how we get to the point where Beck feels boring. Really sad. Again breaks my heart to bash the book, but I just can't help it.
The speaker is good as always. Can't say anything bad here, but since the material he has to work with is what it is it feels in some parts a bit boring.
So conclusion: I think Beck needs to take a break from his crazy writing schedule and find his spark again because comparing this to anything like for example "The book of the dead" or the original "beneath the dark ice" shows that he somehow lost his magic. Let's hope for the best in the future.
