the best story so far imo, can be read alone too. i absolutely adore blaze and I'm invested in henry. definitely going to buy the next books, this was awesome.

The start of the book had me giggling. Daddy Montana sending out his IT guy to pick up a new dinosaur. Royal gets on the mission and royally f*cks up! You never know which of the characters really is the one needing to be saved on this journey.
Daddy Montana obviously only adopts gay or bi or pan dinosaurs, maybe it has something to do with his education. I think it's hilarious.
The book had a little change in the plot we are used to now. And I'm not super satisfied with how the fossil thiefs are not really dealt with, that's the one star missing.
Anyway the Queen Mission was the best idea ever. And I love the Ninja Turtles and other references found in this piece.

I was hoping this one was gonna be better than the second one. I really was. And while I admit that I can’t really say anything about the story I don’t think I’ll ever find out what said story actually is about because it would mean listening to this for a lot longer than I can stand.

It starts with the name of the MC. So far names were pretty normal, right? Well, this guy’s now called Blaze Fight, which sounds like something I would’ve come up with at 14 or 15. I also don’t think I’ve ever met a living creature called Blaze that wasn’t a horse or a dog. And that’s kinda the gist of the book altogether, at least as far as I got.

Royal’s POV is fine but Blaze is so incredibly obnoxious and annoying that I felt my mood sour whenever his POV was announced. I already hated him by chapter 3, which was exacerbated by the fact that the narrator chose a profoundly annoying voice for him as well. Fitting, but didn’t make the listening experience any more bearable. This part of the series seems to read more like bad fanfiction than a published book and yes, I might judge it before knowing enough about the actual plot, but with the MC and his narration I just can’t even get that far.

Very sad and I think I’ll be done with this series now unless the 4th book eventually joins Audible’s free book list. Then I might give it another chance, otherwise I’ll just keep loving the first book and pretending the others don’t exist.
