Great book, but speaker changes tire

The story is very well written and hugely interesting. Written in parts like a novel, in parts like a history book, it brings the facts to fore in a gripping manner. But the change of speakers is tiresome. Through three speakers, the accents change strongly, from a New England sharpness over a southern drawl and somewhere in between. Keeping with the characters, the places and times is tough anyway in such an exhaustively researched book. With changing voices, it's like a new start everytime, which is a pity.
