Three completely different yet compelling parts of the story . The narrator very skillfully performs the characters with different voices and accents . For me as a non native speaker sometimes difficult to understand ... but it gives a very realistic flavor to the story .

One of the great works of Hemingway

I keep returning to this audiobook, almost like playing fave records.

The story is great, a bit of Hemingway, hard to beat when right . The way it's read for you in this production is divine. These dialects in the dialogues, the coolness of Thomas Hudson's voice ... such a fantastic listen. Bruce Greenwood's performance is Oscar-worthy without ever being 'loud'.

Shame I couldn't find more audiobooks by Bruce Greenwood.

The ambience, dry humour and tragedy create magic in some scenes - storytelling at its most imaginative and touching.
