a nice story worth your time

a nice story and about what you expect in a chosen one or champion of God xyz storyline.

what I get hung up on is the world building, while it is nice enough and has lots of interplay to be interesting, there is a huge flaw. Humans live in a kingdom where negative points can be earned just by robbing one another and the one instance that is enumerated you hear a 300+

getting into a city with just 500 of these points is declared as nearly impossible and forbidden from a thousand onwards. killing grants 1500 and any act of greed is said to lead to points if lives are endangered. that rules out wars and pretty much most human interplay....

this is not considered and human society has thievery, our hero runs across his first minute in his first town. oh and he he is robbed and bound on his way there.

this is inconsistent and makes for strange situations.

2h in, MC is still a Bitch

I do not know if it gets better but I do not have the Patience to listen to this. Also the recording is kinda annoying, a lot of the dialogue happens between the two main characters and they even have two Speakers. but "He said/she said" is still read out loud, which is kinda annoying. Also bad cut, Long breaks between lines.

One of the worst beginnings ever

If I could've given the audio book back then I would've done that instead of writing this review but since audible didn't allow that....

I knew after 15 minutes that I would despise the story. I didn't like any characters that get introduced in the beginning.
But the main problem is the way these "gods" treat their champions in these stories, if they need a champion it makes no sense to treat them bad and make life harder for their chosen and everytime I come by such a situation in a story it shatters the suspension of disbelieve and takes away any tension since what the protagonist does of his own volition is of no importance to the story. In these stories the protagonist is just there to get thrown around like a small boat in a storm, he can't do anything except wait for the next wave that will throw him into another direction.

Boring beginning

The beginning could be completely cut. Totally boring and annoying in my opinion. I am now 1 hour and 15 minutes in, and i would have stopped listening already if i wouldnt suffer from buyers remorse. I have listened the last 3 chapters in 2.5x speed and most of what happened there could be condensed into 10 minutes...
