Very rich and informative
Unfortunately most of the available books about Islam are written by one of the 2 extremes : either an anti-islamist who holds a lot of prejudice or a conservative Islamist.
This book, however, offered an alternative that I was exactly looking for. Although I don't agree with all the views presented in it, I find it a great introduction for anyone looking to learn about Islam from scratch and also for Muslims who want to refresh and learn more about the story of how this religion developed.
Highly recommended.

very interesting for non-musllims
the author is most likely a dirtbag, but the book is good. I is a biography of Mohammad according to islam tradition and connects it with lessons one can draw from the events and decisions. sadly the author seem to have forgotten the don't-rape part

Interesting
Would have loved a more detailed biography of prophet. If the general overview is what you are looking for, this can be a good start
