Since the 90‘s i was a big fan of Stackpole bc of his Fantasy and Battletech books but i never read his Star Wars books. When i saw that there will be a new Audiobook for one if his most well known stories about Corran Horn i was obviously very excited. But already halfway in the storyline i was very dissatisfied. Dont get me wrong this is a audioplay with amazing Star Wars sound effects and Music and the voice actor is amazing at changing his voice into different characters of different races and Stackpole is as always good in describing interesting details.

But in my oppinion the „voice“ for the protagonist is the worst choice for the main character bc he sounds whiny and like a little brat instead of a war veteran who was also a cop and now wants to become a Jedi… and the biggest weakness of the story is the story itself. There is so many plot decisions which dont make sense and alot of characters(especially Luke Skywalker) are portraied like idiots so that Corran Horn can shine.

And because i hated that treatment of Luke in the Sequel Trilogy then why should i not also critisize that in a book from the Expanded Universe from the 90‘s from one of my favorite authors?

Overall a good quality production but i would definitely say the book is the worst book of Stackpole that i have read in my life, sadly.

Wonderful Narration and Voice Actor with a bad Story

I loved everything every single freaking minute. If you have not read this or listen to me, you have to I mean it’s so great a story of love, loss, happiness, sadness, friendship, destruction and evil
