The story of a young man struggeling with his sexuality and the family finances is as such interesting. It's written in a mix of realism and historical accuracy while also drawing on mystic storytelling elements popular in the 18th century. Unfortunate is that it's full of concepts of who the man is in the relationship ,with the older being it while the younger is being emasculated and has to follow, instead of being a true partner
