Es war gut anzuhören: Interessant und eines lebendige Vermittlung des Stoffes. Wenig überraschendes weil ich mich ja schon vorher für die Antike interessiert habe aber habe es trotzdem gern gehört.

I knew Eric Garland from a lecture about greek history. Even there he took an extended and elaborate approach to Greek history from the archaic era up to hellenistic period. So I knew, that I could expect a well founded study of Greek Everyday Life in this audio book.

The author's Narration took us through a wide range of topics, for example what it means to be old or young in classical Greek society, how traveling looked like or what it means to be a woman or wife in classical Greece. Garland does so with a very clean approach and a vivid Narration. Even for a non-native English speaker like me, the topic was easy to follow.
