Über diesen Titel
Gospel Poetry focuses on God the father, Jesus Christ the son and Julian's personal journey of becoming closer to them in the midst of anxiety, depression, schizoaffective disorder symptoms, incarceration and separation from his wife, children, family, friends and loved ones. The poems and reflective pieces were written while he was incarcerated for 11 months and four days at Fayette County Jail in Georgia from April 2015 to March 2016. It was the beginning of a transformation journey. Although Julian was already a Christian, he had not come into the growth as he should have in Christ the Lord, according to his own words. It was in jail that he continued reading scriptures, singing memorable hymns and gospel songs, and praying, so that he was able to get a breakthrough. Eventually his pieces made up quite easily what is now known as the Gospel Poetry collection. This book is a very intimate conversation with Jesus Christ. Julian believes at the time of his writing that the Holy Spirit was truly comforting him and giving him strength daily. All of us know someone who's in jail, a detention center, prison or penitentiary. So you should be able to relate to these pieces very well. It is the hope of the writer that all people from every walk of life and faith become encouraged. God has a plan for you too. Sometimes he allows a situation to happen to talk to us alone and/or get us where he wants us to be. That's how Julian feels about his recent time in jail. The Lord was working on him; remolding him to serve his purpose and bring him glory.
