I watched GoogleMaps while listening to it. Heck I even marked the spots these guys where visiting and tracked their route closely. It gives such an insane high immerisive feeling. Sometimes I even knew Walker is going to hit a river soon before the story told it or Driver will go through another town.... I never listened to an audio book that way. I went through it on a whole weekend, I couldn't do anything else lol.

Größtenteils eine lange Liste von Dingen die Prepper habeb/gerne hätten. Die Charaktere und die Geschichte sind eher flach, es passieren mir zu viele "Zufälle" die mir wenig realistisch erscheinen. Erst zum Ende des Buches konnte ich mich mit den Charakteren einlassen.
Anders als angegeben ist dieses Buch kein bisschen wie one Second After. Interessant fand ich jedoch das die ganze Geschichte in Umgangssprache geschrieben wird und der Erzähler nicht künstlich eingefügt werden muss.

Detailed, gripping and sometimes brutal. The thing is perspective changes are without warning and with no intro. Sometimes irritating.

I listened to this in order to improve my understanding of contemporary English and I think the audiobook is good for this. There is some slang and the texts are 'normal'. The book displays some pepper worldviews as well as it has some practical suggestions included. I enjoyed the book as it gave some additional access to this kind of language.

And for some basics you better be prepared, if it is not for yourself but for the sake of your loved ones.

Gutes Hörbuch für alle Prepper, Survivalisten, Soldaten und Bushcrafter.

Ein mehr oder weniger realistisches SHTF Szenario. Die Charaktere handeln sinnvoll und rational, so wie jemand der sich auf so etwas vorbereitet auch handeln würde. Moralische Entscheidungen sind adäquat und menschlich. Die Erwähnung von Ausrüstung und deren Verwendung gibt Leuten die mit dem Thema vertraut sind ein realistisches Setting. Kein wokes handeln oder gendergequatsche. Recht realistisch.
Manche Sachen etwas unlogisch oder nicht verständlich. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert!

The guy who reads the story needs to learn about correct intonation of sentences 🙈 never heard an audio book that was read so badly.
The story is okay. But overall - not recommended.
