Benny White had been having a rough couple of years, and the approaching apocalypse wasn’t exactly helping.
Pulled from the point of death and thrust into a horde-mode-style survival game, Benny’s odds weren’t looking too great. To make matters worse, an eldritch god… entity… thing named ‘Dave’ tasked him with destroying the very System that now controls his fate.
But hey, it's not all bad news. Benny’s experience as a lab tech grants him a rare Splicer Class that lets him repurpose the genetic material of slain enemies into augments for himself. Bone claws, blood-bullet turrets, and maybe a skeletal hydra head or two are just a few of the additions to his gory arsenal.
Then there’s his Flesh Golem summon, a six-foot mound of muscle and sinew called Meat. That lumbering monstrosity might come in handy, just as soon as it stops walking into trees…
The stage has been set. The contestants have been chosen. The entire galaxy is watching.

A new Star in LitRPG
I really enjoyed this one. The MC is relatable and likeable, he has to struggle to gain power, I liked the base building and hope there will be more in Book 2. Great finale, really looking forward to the Next Book!

Defiance of the Dungeon Crawler Benny
I enjoyed this one. It's not outstanding, neither in a good nor in a bad way, but that's alright. Not every book needs to be a 5/5. Enjoyable is good enough.
Besides the overuse of internal monologue at the start of the book, the biggest sore spot for me was how similar it is to Dungeon Crawler Carl. I like DCC, so much so that I've listened to it multiple times, which makes this book feel less fresh. Things like the setting—Alien TV show—, the anti-system mindset and Goody Two-Shoes behaviour of the main character, the way the achievements are written, as well as many others that I can't list because of spoilers, it all feels very much like DCC. Mix in some Defiance of the Fall—can't list any without spoiling either series—and you have this book. For some that might be a plus, but for me it's a negative. If you are familiar with DCC, you'll either love this for the similarities or be turned off because it feels stale.

Wie man Spannung zerstört und ....
Hoffnungen hegt. In der Autor Schaft es sehr gut Spannung zu erzeugen, jedoch ebenso diese durch pures Geschwafel wieder zu Zerstören. Wenn mir ein quasi Gott sagt das wir keine Zeit haben sollte man sich beeilen, aber nicht der MC. Dafür will er niemals jemand töten im einer Welt in der es auch darum geht und rennt vor kämpfen weg die er schon gewonnen hat. Währe es nicht der MC würde man wenigstens darauf warten können das der MC stirbt.
