The interesting content (the four different approaches to categorising and solving problems: Statistical, interactive, chaotic and complex) makes up only a fraction of the text and does not go beyond the simplest basics. The rest are "inspiring stories of pioneering scientists", which are more reminiscent of very small-talk-heavy soap operas and for the most part extremely boring.

If you are interested in made up stories about the social behaviour of adolescent students in different eras, the book may be entertaining. But it is in no way a detailed introduction to the different categories of systems, their characteristics and handling.

At best, the "appearances" of various important historic academics provide clues as to whose works one should study in order to really learn something about the subject.

This book is a great disappointment
