Since the death of their mother, Josten Applewhite has done what he's had to do to take care of his little brother and keep their small family together. But in an instant, a stroke of bad luck tears down what little home he's managed to build, and Jos and Isaac end up on the streets.
That's where Officer Kip Rogers finds them, and even though he knows he should let the proper authorities handle things, he cannot find it in his heart to turn them away, going so far as to invite them to stay in his home until they get back on their feet. With the help of Kip and his friends, Jos starts to rebuild his life. But experience has taught him nothing comes for free, and the generosity seems too good to be true - just like everything about Kip.
Kip's falling hard for Jos, and he likes the way Jos and Isaac make his big house feel like a home. But their arrangement can't be permanent, not with Jos set on making his own way. Then a distant relative emerges, determined to destroy Jos's family, and Kip knows Jos needs him - even if he's not ready to admit it.

Review on „Fire and Rain (Carlisle Cops Book 03)
Was hat Ihnen das Hörerlebnis von Fire and Rain besonders unterhaltsam gemacht?
„Fire&Rain“starts with a nasty, long overdue break-up between police officer Kip and his boyfriend. What a way to start his patrol shift that autumn afternoon.In the cold rain he meets Josten and his little half-brother sleeping in a shop's doorway. Kip tries his hardest to help Jos&Isaac,and with the support of Donald&Carter, he set the brothers up at his place until social matters and a job for Josten are sorted out.
Soon Kip and Jos realize that there is more between them than just friendship but both always put little Isaac's happiness first and take things veeeeeeeeery slow. Jos and Isaac get back on their feet,but a money greedy aunt and a car accident keep Kip and his colleagues still in sight of the brothers all the time until the happy end!
Welcher Moment von Fire and Rain ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?
The last chapter with Carter,Donald&Alex and Red&Terry coming over to Kip,Jos and Isaac celebrating Thanksgiving is so sweet. No doubt it is Mr.Grey's most skilled gift letting his stories of finding love and building a family end on such a heart warming note. We readers/listeners can lean back happily after having followed his likeable MCs through their sad pasts, bad luck and turmoils of emotions.
Haben Sie vorher schon ein Hörbuch mit Randy Fuller gehört? Wie würden Sie beide vergleichen?
So glad Mr. Fuller continues reading this series. So we listeners regognize the voices of Red, Aaron,Donald and Carter easily when they appeare in the course of the story. With already so many characters one would imagine Mr Fuller runs out of ideas, but no, it's the contrary and I am wondering how many more voice nuances he has in store for us!
Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?
I really do love how Mr.Grey seemingly effortless is weaving the charactes of his books and series together creating a warm, familiar feeling for the readers/listeners every time they return to Carlisle/PA.
