Great for anyone interested in the British Empire and the concept of empire in general. First read this as a history student, and again years later just for fun.

Very well compiled history of the British Empire

From its humble beginnings to post-WWII, this book tells the story of the British Empire through the lives of many protagonists and the socioeconomic conditions of the times involved. Very recommended.
