Über diesen Titel
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, a special gift edition of Edgedancer, a short novel of the Stormlight Archive (previously published in Arcanum Unbounded).
Three years ago, Lift asked a goddess to stop her from growing older—a wish she believed was granted. Now, in Edgedancer, the barely teenage nascent Knight Radiant finds that time stands still for no one. Although the young Azish emperor granted her safe haven from an executioner she knows only as Darkness, court life is suffocating the free-spirited Lift, who can't help heading to Yeddaw when she hears the relentless Darkness is there hunting people like her with budding powers. The downtrodden in Yeddaw have no champion, and Lift knows she must seize this awesome responsibility.

Fresh, because fighting is not what resolves the conflicts.
Fresh side story. Relistening the whole series in preparation for Stormlight 5 and it's great to find easter eggs and references to the wider story. On that note we get a bit more of Seth and Nale ( and the Order of the Skybreakers)

the ending as a tie in to The stormlight archives was outstanding
comming from words of radiance the scope is more that of an extended interlude then a full story, streched a bit while still builing to only one theme and conclusion

Eine süße kleine Geschichte
Vielleicht einen Hauch für mich schlechter als die anderen Bücher von ihm in der Reihe, aber trotzdem ein schönes kleines Buch. Kann ich empfehlen :)

Very solid
Lift is a bit overwhelming, at first. Thanks to her Spren and her antagonists it does not get too bad. Very enjoyable side story to the other books.

quite unnecessary story
The Good :
heard this as part of the "included" in Audible feature, and am happy I got to listen to it for free.
The meh :
For one the story is pretty "mehhh", as not much happens after the first "heist" sequence, and most of what happens next happens outside the agency of the main character or by sheer "co-incidence" or very arbitrary decisions by the author. Link is basically pushed into situations, but she has hardly any goals of her own, except where to steal more food. Remarkably she does not steal food to survive, she steals food for self-indulgence, rarely enough sharing and without much consideration.of the consequences.,
Link is not a protagonist in any real sense, driven by whims and urges, but without any plan, without any special skills or knowledges except her radiant (aka magical) abilities which seem more or less pressed onto her by chance. She feels like a cheap of the rack, but uninteresting, urchin. A very basic, quite annoying street urchin. I wonder who she is meant to appeal to.
Besides Link is a pretty obnoxious and irritating protagonist, in her early teens, who mostly thinks with her stomach and has little insight into the world, which does not help the story along much and whose inner voice can grate, both in the way the book is read and the simplicity of thought. How she mentally leaps to some conclusions is.miraculo...... ahem no just the author's arbitrary shortcut, because too little plot is dragged out too much already. Same goes for her magical sidekick who exists to "explain" her powers, whine and facilliate dialogue to illuminate what is happening.
At least the author spares us any hormonal turmoil etc.. Also the World of Stormlight seems to be - well I expected more serious challenges to a lone, undersized female urchin, from others of her ilk, rivals or simply nefarious never'do'wells. the world felt irritatingly harmless, much like a matte painting, looking interesting but not interacting with the story in any way Also the term "awesomeness" for her magical power.... felt like such a poor choice
The whole thing does not satisfy... neither as further insight into the Stormlight universe, nor as a gritty and street-smart adventure of a juvenile delinquent adventurer (too pleasant). It's technically ok, but there is not much plot, and the antagonist(s).... Oh and as the author notes in a short addendum at end, if there is "character Growth" occurring in this story, it was at minimal level at best - no challenge, no failure, no work or change of perspective..
If I paid for this , I would be really disappointed, listening in it as part of the subscription, felt ok to me, but I would neither recommend the Book or the Audiobook as "need to read// listen" .
the Ugly
As for the performing reader - it is certainly subjective, but Mrs Reading made the experience of the book actually worse ! She may be well trained, , but her chosen inflection and drawl grated on my nerves quite substantially... best listen in for a few scenes if you consider to buy.
barely 3/5 for the story with 2/5 for the actual performance
